Milender White recently earned an Excellence in Construction Merit Award from the Rocky Mountain Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors for the Aliso Apartments in Los Angeles in the Mega Project category. The ABC Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. This year’s honor marks MW’s seventh Excellence in Construction award.
MW completed its work at The Aliso in June this year. Located in the Arts District in downtown Los Angeles, this new apartment community features five buildings and 474 units. Developed by Brookfield Residential and Legendary Partners, the project is the first large-scale development to open in nearly three years in the area.
“I couldn’t be more proud of our project team who made it all happen,” said Morgan Lysohir, Vice President and Construction Executive for The Aliso. “To safely perform almost one million man hours of work took the diligence of our subcontractor partners, extensive planning, and constant communication.”
Located on a 5.85-acre site that abuts the Southern California Institute of Architecture, The Aliso spans 878,983 sq. ft. and features studio, one & two-bedroom apartments as well as 42 live/work units, gallery space, and 26,000 sq. ft. of retail. Outdoor amenities include a pool, spa, cabanas, fire pits, bar-b-ques, bocce court, rooftop deck and dog walk/wash area. Indoor amenities consist of a two-story gym, game room, lounges, club room with full kitchen, music recording room and video green room.
