The 30-story Curtis Building in downtown Denver was built in the early 1970s and originally contained the Executive Tower Inn plus office space. It has since been converted to include the Curtis Hotel on the lower 16 floors and student housing for a nearby university campus on the upper 14 floors. The renovation was completed as part of a large-scale redevelopment and urban renewal project.
The Auraria Student Housing upgrades included the addition of a fourth floor fitness room and a third floor study center and student lounge. Exterior patio renovations included a sport court, wading pool and grilling lounge.
While the majority of construction took place in unused portions of the third and fourth floors, both the Curtis Hotel and the Auraria Student Housing remained fully occupied and operational.
