Boulder County Justice Center Addition

1777 6th St.
Boulder, CO

Type: Government

Owner: Boulder County, Colorado

Architect: SEH, Inc.

Project Summary

This project infills a portion of the Justice Center’s interior courtyard with a two-story addition to connect and consolidate existing office space for the District Attorney. The courtyard infill adds 9,000 sq. ft. of new floor area and demolishes and remodels 9,800 sq. ft. of existing office space. The total project area is 18,800 sq. ft.

The District Attorney infill is completely contained within the existing building footprint, except for minor site regrading to accommodate a new egress door on the exterior of the building and a structural column to support a balcony.

Openings are cut into the existing precast concrete panels on the north wall, and new curtain wall glazing brings natural light into the office spaces.

The Justice Center Addition project provides workspace for 53 employees with some additional square footage reserved for future workplace growth.
