Milender White performed a structural modification to the existing foundation of a 200-ft. self-supporting lattice tower on top of Horsetooth Mountain.
Due to stressing from collocating equipment, the foundation required the installation of (12) new 4-inch diameter rock anchors drilled to a depth of 20-ft. Because the quality of the subsurface rock was unknown at time of project award, Milender White installed and tested a sacrificial rock anchor to a load of 150,000-lbs. to verify rock strength and bond capabilities. We then installed the new rock anchors around the perimeter of the existing tower legs. All anchors were successfully installed to the correct depth and the project was completed four days ahead of schedule.
