Project Summary

This 264-key select-service hotel is located at the corner of 18th and Champa in downtown Denver. A 15-story building with a concrete podium, the Hyatt Centric features 11 levels of Infinity superstructure, with upper concrete slabs at L15 and roof. Including its underground utility level, the hotel totals 154,298 sq. ft. The exterior includes a curtain wall at L1 and L2 and intricate, sloped metal panels and EIFS designs to enhance the architecture.

Our team worked in a design-assist partnership with Infinity Structures (load-bearing steel stud framing) and Epicore Metal Decking (structural systems at levels 4-14). Our logistics plan required great precision since the project site was situated four inches from a historic building, and along two active roadways and an alleyway; we hired structural consultants to monitor vibrations caused by foundation drilling. The team also encountered contaminated soils, which were mitigated through consultation and proper disposal.

Amenities include 1,500 sq. ft. of meeting space, a lobby bar and cafe with a restaurant-grade kitchen, and a fitness center. The building’s top floor features a rooftop bar with an outdoor terrace and views of Denver and the Front Range. New sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping complement the picture. The Hyatt Centric is uniquely designed to capture the spirit of Denver and allow guests to easily access the local cultural and retail scene.
