The Aliso was honored as a 2020 Engineering News-Record Regional Best Project and a 2020 ABC SoCal Excellence in Construction Project. This 472-unit community sits in the thriving Arts District of downtown Los Angeles, steps from great cafes, shops and galleries, conveying both a sense of place and a sense of calm amid the pulse of the city.
One of the largest residential projects to be built in downtown L.A. in recent years, the Aliso consists of five apartment buildings 5-6 stories high, totaling 878,983 sq. ft. on 5.85 acres. The development is mixed-use, with 26,000 sq. ft. of commercial and retail space. One level of underground parking (200,389 sq. ft.) and two levels of above-ground parking provide controlled access for 774 vehicles. Amenities include a pool with deck, a two-story gym, a game room, a recording studio, a green screen room, and play areas for dogs.
The type III-A wood-framed buildings are clad in stucco and metal wall panels and include Class A interior finishes. Each of the five buildings has a unique exterior finish, and all five have landscaped rooftop decks. The complex’s distinctive amenities and 42 live/work apartments appeal to the lively, diverse and creative community that is the Los Angeles Arts District.
